I have trapped pocket gophers professionally for over 35 years. Using many different kinds of traps, I trapped tens of thousands of gophers in farmers' fields in Southwestern Idaho and Eastern Oregon. I maintained detailed records of my efforts and of the many kinds of traps on the market, and after careful analysis determined the most effective traps to use in various situations. Although I trapped mostly in alfalfa hay fields, I also trapped in corn fields, sugar beet fields, carrot fields, onion fields, and small grain fields. In addition, I have often been called to trap gophers in flower gardens, lawns, yards, and pastures. Naturally, my knowledge of gophers, my trapping techniques, and trapping skills improved considerably during my many years of trapping. I decided to write an e-book, "How to Trap Pocket Gophers", to share this valuable information with others. While I have not purposely withheld any information in the e-book, you may encounter problems or have specific questions and need more detailed information. Sometimes, gophers can be a challenge, so if you do have questions, please e-mail me at: |
